1st August - Feast of St Alphonsus Liguori - Carlos

"We can always turn to the Virgin Mary whenever we do something wrong or we're ashamed of something or whenever we feel like we're not worthy of addressing God, we can have her as an intermediate. That's what I most like about her, she's always there and no matter how you feel you can always pray to her."

Carlos is 18 & from Spain; he gives his algo de María in English & Spanish.

2nd August - Feast of St Eusebius of Vercelli - Nisrine

Our Lady's message to Mirjana Soldo, Međugorje, 2nd August 2012:

"Dear children, I am with you and I am not giving up. I desire to have you come to know my Son. I desire for my children to be with me in eternal life. I desire for you to feel the joy of peace and to have eternal salvation. I am praying that you may overcome human weaknesses. I am imploring my Son to give you pure hearts. My dear children, only pure hearts know how to carry a cross and know how to sacrifice for all those sinners who have offended the Heavenly Father and who, even today, offend Him, although they have not come to know Him. I am praying that you may come to know the light of true faith which comes only from prayer of pure hearts. It is then that all those who are near you will feel the love of my Son. Pray for those whom my Son has chosen to lead you on the way to salvation. May your mouth refrain from every judgment. Thank you."

3rd August - Agnes

"There's really a strong image of Mama Mary for Filipinos, we just go to her every time we would have like deep, deep needs. And for us she forms a very strong connection between Jesus Christ our God. And in times when we are in desperate needs, we would most likely go to her and ask her assistance so that our prayers would be brought before Jesus and before God. So from a country with a very strong maternal image, for us Mama Mary always comes to our aid or assistance during desperate needs. And in times when we get nice graces, it's also Mama Mary we go to first to thank her for praying for us and for praying with us."

Agnes is from the Philippines & gives her response in English & Tagalog.

4th August - Feast of St John Mary Vianney, the Curé d'Ars - Tom

"I see Mary as my spiritual mother. When I pray the rosary I feel very close to her, Wherever I am in life or whatever is happening to me, I feel comforted when I pray the rosary and it helps me to get through a lot of hard times in life and I think I'll always be grateful for the gift of rosary that we've received."

Tom is 21 & from England.

5th August - Feast of Our Lady of Snows - Daniel

"I like the image of the rosary as being those reins of our Heavenly Mother holding us and us holding her so that we're free to enjoy this wonderful world, but that she's always there, guiding us, not just keeping us away from evil but leading us ever closer to the goal which is not just to understand our faith better but to know her Son better. I've come to realise now that it's not possible to love our Heavenly Mother too much because she only ever leads us to her Son."

Daniel is from England.

In order to be truly humble you have to have the strength in order to give yourself completely. Mary is one of the very few people who we can point to who has managed to do that, who has managed to give her life entirely, you have to have great strength in order to do that, and she's hugely inspirational in that and in her love."
