1st January - Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God - Father Leo

"We are celebrating on this great feast day the great love that we have for our mother Mary, who is not only our mother spiritually, our mother in the Church but she’s also the Mother of God, as the Church has acknowledged in 431 at the Council of Ephesus. She is a great gift to us as we need her motherhood and her protection and her prayers and her intercession before her Son Jesus."

Father Leo Fisher CFR, from America, is a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal currently based at their friary in Bradford, UK.

Our Lady's message to Mirjana Soldo, Medjugorje, 2nd January 2013:

"Dear children, with much love and patience I strive to make your hearts like unto mine. I strive, by my example, to teach you humility, wisdom and love because I need you; I cannot do without you my children. According to God’s will I am choosing you, by His strength I am strengthening you. Therefore, my children, do not be afraid to open your hearts to me. I will give them to my Son and in return, He will give you the gift of divine peace. You will carry it to all those whom you meet, you will witness God’s love with your life and you will give the gift of my Son through yourselves. Through reconciliation, fasting and prayer, I will lead you. Immeasurable is my love. Do not be afraid. My children, pray for the shepherds. May your lips be shut to every judgment, because do not forget that my Son has chosen them and only He has the right to judge. Thank you."

2nd January - Feast of Ss Basil the Great & Gregory Nazianzen - Tom

"Recently when I was ordained as a deacon it suddenly struck me that Our Lady is Queen of the Clergy and Mother of the Clergy (that’s the title we have at our seminary for Our Lady, Queen of the Clergy). And suddenly very personally I felt Our Lady is my Queen and my Mother and so I can take all my problems to her, and she is the model of clerical celibacy for us. So we pray to Our Lady."

Tom is 27 & from England.

3rd January - Feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus - Laura

"I think Mary is beyond my understanding of how wonderful her femininity and motherhood is, and what a privilege it is to be aware even in the slightest of how humble she is in terms of leading us to God and the fact that she always enriches and guides us to the most precious thing we can obtain in this life which is knowing Jesus, and growing into the fullness of life with him. So I think Mother Mary is nurturing. Amen."

Laura is 26 & from the UK.

4th January - Sister Theresia

"I was converted to Catholicism more than 20 years ago. Now I have this love of Mary. The early 10 years of my life I didn’t realise how deep the faith that Mary can bring to me. Now I belong to the Congregation of the Sisters of Nazareth. Mary to me is a mother. I always pray to her to bring me closer to her Son, and bring me closer to others."

Sister Theresia is from Samoa and belongs to the Congregation of the Sisters of Nazareth.

5th January - Sister Vera

"Mary has been a great mother to me and she has helped me very much in my relationship with Jesus, in trying to deepen my love for him as she loved him. And also in preparing for my final vows, she has helped me greatly in my 'yes' as she made her 'yes' to Jesus also, and to the Lord."

Sister Vera is originally from Singapore and is based in San Diego with the Congregation of the Sisters of Nazareth.

6th January - Solemnity of the Epiphany - Oliver

7th January - Catherine

"Our Lady to me is a shining light in the dark times and she guides me when I need guidance."

Catherine is 27 & from London.

8th January - Edwin

"Mother Mary is the great mediatrix of all graces. Mother Mary is the go-between us and our Lord Jesus Christ. Without Mother Mary we would not know what divine intervention is. Mother Mary accepted and said 'yes'. By saying yes, she brought succour to the world. By saying yes she made mankind realise that God loves us. By saying yes, she said yes to God and God is happy about it and we are happy about Mother Mary. Mother Mary is a wonderful mother."

Edwin is from Nigeria.

9th January - Joan

"I am a member of the Legion of Mary: ‘I’m all thine, my Queen and my Mother, and everything I have is thine.’ I’m just back from Medjugorje, where Our Lady has been so good to me."

Joan is from Ireland.

10th January - Tish

"I’ve been asked what is my feeling about Our Lady. Well, it’s like being asked what's your feeling about your mother, because she is my mother and I love her and I don't know what I'd do without her."

Tish is from England.

11th January - Edgar

"Mary I think is one of the examples of obedience to God and she was with Our Lord Jesus since his birth, and even before. And I think that’s pretty hard for her, she’s a hero, to acknowledge that she’s raising up her child who’s going to take on all the sins of the world and who’s going to be crucified."

Edgar is 35 and from Latvia; he gives his kaut ko par Mariju in English & then recites the Hail Mary in Latvian.

12th January - Melba

Melba is from the Philippines.

13th January - Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord - Robin

"My first meeting of Mary, in a big time basis, was going to Lourdes. The statue in the grotto and the candles remain in my mind since my first visit to Lourdes, and I went to Lourdes several times. She's a constant help, she's an eternal help. She's always been there when I needed her and like any mother does, keeps it a constant without question and without asking whys and wherefores. So with her in mind, especially praying the rosary, it means that there's always somebody there that you can talk to and be appreciated for what you're trying to do, and she'll always understand, that's the good thing about her."

Robin is from England.

14th January - Carlene

"For me, Mary is champion of the world, like the utter containment of perfection in a woman. She’s like who you wanna be like, she’s like the queen, the mother .. and yet so humble. .. She’s the first one, the new Eve, the first to say yes to God and lead us to salvation. "

Carlene is 27 & from England.

15th January - Adele

"Mama Mary, thank you very much for all the kindness and fruitfulness that you have given to us."

Linda is from Manila in the Philippines.

19th January - Firman

"Mary, Our Lady, to me is a wonderful person, she gave me a miracle. She gave me a son 2 years ago who I asked for through the prayers of Our Lady. .. She's a wonderful mother who listens to our prayers."

Firman is from Indonesia.

20th January - Timothy

"Mary the Mother of God is very much my mother too. I know that she cares for me and loves me... She cares for us so much and in her many apparitions around the world, she gives a message of faith, a message of peace and a message of hope. So when we can't have hope, she has hope for us. And as it says, 'If a mother forgets her child, I will not forget you'. Well, Mary will never forget any of the children that have been entrusted to her."

Timothy is 24 & from England.

22nd January - Feast of St Vincent Pallotti - Rhet

"Our Lady, she means everything to me. I live by it .. because she’s the Queen of Heaven. I have this one prayer, written by St Bernard, it's down at the Cathedral where you pray before Our Lady: 'Never has it been known that anyone who has fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided.' Now, that's the perfect one and if you have it on your heart .. she'll help you."

Rhet is from Canada.

“¡Queridos hijos! También hoy los invito a la oración. Que vuestra oración se haga tan fuerte como piedra viva, hasta que con sus vidas se conviertan en testigos. Testimonien la belleza de su fe. Ann is from London.

29th January - Lily

"If you’ve got a belief in Our Lady, just say 3 Hail Marys every day when you come to church or whatever, tell her your problems and ask her to help. It will take time before you get that help, but if you've got belief, it will really happen."

Lily is from Singapore.
